Merchant Services Specialist

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Merchant Services Specialist to manage and optimize payment processing operations. In this role, you will support businesses by setting up merchant accounts, providing technical support for payment systems, ensuring PCI compliance, and delivering tailored payment solutions.

You will bring expertise in card and ACH processing, ISV integrations, and ISO partnerships, including onboarding merchants, managing revenue projections, and streamlining processes. This is a dynamic role that combines technical knowledge, operational management, and client relationship skills to drive payment solutions success.

Responsibilities:      

  • Merchant Account Management: Assist businesses in setting up, maintaining, and optimizing merchant accounts for payment processing.
  • Payment Processing Support: Provide technical support for point-of-sale (POS) systems, payment terminals, and online payment gateways.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide customized payment solutions.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Monitor transaction data, prepare performance reports, and provide actionable insights for process improvement.
  • Sales and Consultation: Educate clients on available payment services, upsell additional features, and guide them on cost-effective payment options.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to PCI DSS standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve payment-related issues promptly, minimizing downtime for clients.
  • Merchant Services Expertise: Leverage extensive knowledge and experience in merchant services, including card and ACH processing, to enhance operations.
  • ISV Integration: Facilitate Independent Software Vendor (ISV) integrations to gateways, ensuring seamless connectivity.
  • ISO Partnerships: Manage Independent Sales Organization (ISO) partnerships, including payment operations, onboarding merchants with the right backend providers, and ensuring accurate residual payouts and revenue share to ISV and ISO partners.
  • Revenue Projections: Project and track revenue, identify opportunities for growth, and streamline operational processes for efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience in merchant services, payment processing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with major payment processors and systems (e.g., Stripe, Square, PayPal, Clover).
  • In-depth understanding of PCI DSS compliance and fraud prevention measures.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build client relationships.
  • Technical aptitude with payment technology and software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and integrations.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific payment solutions (e.g., retail, hospitality, healthcare).
  • Sales or account management experience is a plus.
