Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Payment Operations Manager to lead and optimize our payment processing operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of processors, drive system automation initiatives, and manage strategic partnerships to ensure seamless payment operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in projecting costs and revenues, paying commissions accurately, and streamlining processes to ink high-value deals. This position requires a dynamic leader with deep technical knowledge, operational acumen, and a proven track record of success in payment operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all payment operations to achieve organizational objectives.
- Oversee and mentor a team of processors, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Identify, design, and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows and reduce operational inefficiencies.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve end-to-end payment processes and scalability.
- Establish and maintain best-in-class processes for onboarding, maintaining, and optimizing merchant accounts.
- Serve as a key escalation point for complex issues related to merchant accounts and payment operations.
- Develop tailored strategies to meet the unique payment needs of high-value clients and partners.
- Build and maintain sophisticated models to project costs and revenues associated with payment operations.
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance revenue growth while managing costs effectively.
- Oversee the accurate calculation and timely disbursement of commissions to ISV and ISO partners.
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of ISV integrations and system enhancements to ensure seamless operation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure payment systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and implement solutions to maintain a competitive edge in payment operations.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with ISOs, ISVs, and other key partners to drive business growth.
- Represent the organization in high-level negotiations and collaborations with external stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives of client organizations, providing insights and guidance on payment solutions.
- Develop and enforce compliance programs to ensure adherence to PCI DSS standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead risk assessment initiatives and implement fraud prevention strategies to safeguard operations.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and proactively adjust operations to remain compliant.
- Design and deliver executive-level reports on transaction data, operational performance, and revenue trends.
- Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in payment operations, merchant services, or a related field.
- Strong familiarity with major payment processors and systems (e.g., Stripe, Square, PayPal, Clover).
- In-depth understanding of PCI DSS compliance and fraud prevention measures.
- Exceptional customer service and client relationship management skills.
- Technical proficiency with payment technologies and software systems.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Can work EDT hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms and payment system integrations.
