Job Overview:

Reporting into our Finance & Performance Manager, our FA is the go-to subject matter expert for all data analytics and analysis associated with our sites performance – Australia and New Zealand wide.

Key Responsibilities:      

  • Accurately gather, analyse and interpret financial and non-financial data used by Operations to support the effective delivery of objectives and services.
  • Deliver a variety of reports, manage dashboards, and provide meaningful insights to streamline operations and identify cost-efficiency measures. This includes:
    • Fortnightly Labour Dashboards for each state and each service line.
    • Monthly Gross Profit and Loss analysis by state and service line.
    • Fortnightly Performance report.
    • Various ad hoc analyses as requested by Operations or Management.
  • Conduct Monthly Profit and Loss analysis and investigations by cost centre. Analyse Gross Profit by site, investigate site performance, review journal entries and supporting invoices. Identify low GP drivers and produce commentary for Operations on a periodic and ad hoc basis.  
  • Identify anomalies in accounting records (cost centre miscoding, missed accruals etc.)
  • Deliver monthly P&L reports to internal stakeholders, ensuring reporting timelines are met. Reports include P&L by state, by service line and investigations into low performing sites.  
  • Analyse roster and timesheet performance. Investigate anomalies as they arise or as requested by Operations or Management. Confidently use the internal Rostering system to extract, analyse and present relevant data and insights.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in a similar role in medium to large sized organisations is a preference.
  • A strong work ethic, high level of initiative, keen eye for detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of information and Excel proficiency is a key for this role. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide meaningful and relevant analysis to decision makers.
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting internal financial reports.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
  • The ability to work flexibly at times in accordance with business requirements. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Relevant qualification in a commercial stream (e.g., financial/accounting/audit).
